The Stave Wood Story….

Hello and welcome to Stave Wood Studio. We take used Wine and Whiskey Wood Barrels and turn them into anything you can think of. We make chairs, benches, tables, fire features, shelves, pet beds, jewelry hangers, picture frames, the list goes on and on… We can make anything. All we need is your imagination! Are you having trouble figuring out what you want? Send us information about your space and we can provide design suggestions for free. All our products are made in America with locally sourced materials from Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries in the San Diego, California region. Every piece is made by hand. What is a barrel made from? The wood barrels are made with Oak Wood Staves. Staves are long pie shaped pieces that when put together with metal bands become a water tight barrel. Wood boats are made with the same principle. The oak is either American or French Oak. We use both. Oak is a hardwood and very weather and pest resistant. Any finish can be applied but we prefer to use an oil specifically used for hardwoods. We use glossy finishes such as urethanes and epoxy finishes but these are recommended for interior pieces. We use marine grade stainless steel hidden fasteners.
